Laura Mammen, LPC, LMFT, NCC, ACS

I believe change happens when we feel truly seen, understood, and supported. Life can become overwhelming, and sometimes we know something needs to change but struggle to find the words, direction, or energy to take the next step. My role as a therapist is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can explore what is happening, understand yourself more deeply, and begin creating meaningful change.

I approach therapy collaboratively, with curiosity and genuine respect for the experiences that have shaped you. I believe we are all doing the best we can with what we have learned, and even small shifts in our thoughts, behaviors, and relationships can create powerful changes over time. I also take a holistic view of mental health, recognizing the impact of sleep, movement, nutrition, stress, and the connection between our bodies and brains on our emotional well-being.

Much of my work centers around relationships—couples, families, blended families, and individuals navigating difficult relational patterns. I help couples who feel stuck in the same arguments, disconnected from one another, or unsure how to rebuild trust and closeness. Together, we explore the patterns beneath the conflict, how each person’s experiences have shaped their perspective, and how to create a stronger sense of connection and understanding.

I also support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, and the effects of unhealthy or emotionally harmful relationships. I have experience helping clients develop boundaries, regain a sense of grounding, and reconnect with their own strengths. I especially enjoy supporting women through major life transitions, including pregnancy, changing family roles, caregiving, and the emotional shifts that can occur throughout different stages of life.

With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, I bring both professional knowledge and a deep appreciation for the complexity of human relationships. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, National Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, and other therapists seeking support and growth.

My therapeutic approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method principles, Structural and Strategic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also incorporate trauma-informed approaches, recognizing how past experiences influence the way we relate to ourselves and others.

Whether you are feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something different, therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself and create a path forward.
