Jacob is certified in EMDR Therapy, advanced trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and works from a systemic lens to help clients process trauma, repair attachment ruptures, and strengthen the relationships that matter most to them. He tailors his approach to each individual’s unique journey, creating a space where clients can feel safe, understood, and empowered. Even when it feels difficult to talk about what weighs on them, Jacob views therapy as a place to confront struggles and move toward healing. Together with his clients, he helps clients navigates challenges and helps them reconnect with their inner strength and resilience and strengthen their relationship with themselves and others.

Jacob is an experienced therapist and supervisor, currently serving as a Board Member for the Michigan Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. He has also served on the National Violence Prevention Hotline and leads Relational Therapy Collective as Owner, Therapist, and Supervisor. He holds a Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. He specializes in systemic and relational psychotherapy, including EMDR Therapy, working with individuals, couples, families, and children. Jacob has held roles across organizations and private practice settings, is actively involved in legislative efforts to strengthen the LMFT license through AAMFT, and has experience teaching psychology as an Adjunct Faculty member at Grand Rapids Community College.
